Entry-level tests: Bulgarian universities conduct entry-level tests. These tests are conducted in English. You can secure admission only after clearing these tests.
Educational Requirement: You must produce a bachelor’s certificate with a major in science. If you cannot produce a BA in science or any equivalent degree, you must undergo one semester of compensatory education.
English Proficiency Test: To secure your admission to any Bulgarian university, you must develop a basic flair for the English language. You are allowed to sit for the university exam only after proving your language skills. Once you pass the test, you will be enrolled in the first year of your degree course. If you cannot prove your command of the English language, you must take up a 10-month preparatory course in English or Bulgarian, depending on the course specialties.

PTE Academic (the minimum score needed is 59).
TOEFL Paper, CBT, and IBT (with minimum scores of 550, 213, or 79).

The universities in Bulgaria take the English proficiency tests themselves. The focus is on the scores secured in IELTS and TOEFL, which should be above 6.5 and 81, respectively.
Lessons are taught in English, but Bulgarian universities may want you to have some basic knowledge of the regional language. English is used as an optional language because all the master’s courses offered are global.
